Please join us at the monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 15th. This month will feature a presentation on “Immersive Technology in Building Design and Construction”.
Joe Watson, P.E., a Sr. Fire Protection Engineer from Jensen Hughes, will be presenting on the benefits of Virtual Reality used during the early stages of construction at the “Brown University Performing Arts Center”. This building was recently completed and features highly complex design features, life safety systems, and fire protection systems.
Tom Perry, the Senior Director of Engineering Services Division with Shawmut Design & Construction, will be expanding on the emerging “immersive” technologies available for use in the industry. Some tech that will be covered are: Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, Digital Twins, and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
